Shacman SKD parts Assembly Line Completed in Ethiopia

Since April, 19 experts from SHACMAN had begun their work on the Ethiopian METEC military factory equipment installations, SKD parts production preparations, production management training, equipment management, product technical management, logistics management and a series of other tasks.

The staff overcame constant delays, tough living conditions and all other difficulties. They provided the local work force with 4 different sessions of technical training, training more than 180 factory personnel enabling them to have full operational and related technical preparation capacity.

After all the hard work, the first military vehicle was able to roll off the assembly line on September 9th.

Currently the number of vehicle part production is substantially higher than the 500 annually required amounts on the contract after adjustments were made to the assembly line equipments; under full workload the annual production of SKD parts could reach 10000 units. Time per unit could decrease to 20 minutes per unit from the initial 40 minutes per unit when the workers become more skilled.
